Privacy notice

What SecaTeq does with the details you send from these pages, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) asks. Updated 24 October 2026.

Who we are

SecaTeq (Pty) Ltd is responsible for your details. Royal Cape, Golf Links Estate, Cape Town, 7800. Email admin@secateq.com or call the office on 021 020 0505.

What we collect

Only what you type into the form: your name, your company, building or estate, your phone number and email address, how you would like us to reach you, what you need and your message. We also note when you sent it and where you came from, for example the QR code in our film or a link in one of our posts. If you came from our website, that includes which page and button you used, any campaign tags on the link, and the click reference Google adds when you arrive from one of our Google adverts.

This page sets no cookies and has no tracking or analytics.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry and follow it up, and to see which of our pages and adverts bring enquiries. We do not use your details for anything else, and we never sell them.

Do you have to give them?

No, it is your choice. Without your name and a phone number or email address we cannot get back to you. You can always call us instead.

Who sees them

Our management team. To get your enquiry to them we use service providers who handle it only for us: Vercel, which hosts this page; Resend, which delivers the enquiry to us by email; and Microsoft, which runs our mailboxes. When our spam check is on, Cloudflare confirms that the form was sent by a person and not a program.

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, so your details may leave South Africa on their way to us. We do not pass them to anyone else.

How long we keep them

The page itself stores nothing. Your enquiry stays in our mailboxes while we deal with it and follow it up, and we delete it when it is no longer needed or when you ask. Resend keeps a record of the delivery for a limited time.

Reports and ratings from our signs

The QR codes on SecaTeq signs open pages (security, facilities and hygiene) where anyone can report a problem at a building or rate the service there.

This form is not an emergency service. In danger, call 10111, or 112 from a cellphone.

What we collect. The building's name, what the problem is, where in the building and when, your description, and any photos or voice note you add. Your name, phone number and email address only if you give them. Security reports can be anonymous; facilities and hygiene reports need a phone number or email so we can follow up or arrange access. Ratings ask for no contact details. Photos are shrunk and saved again on your phone before they are sent, which removes the location and camera details stored inside them. The page uses your microphone only while you record a voice note.

Why. To deal with the problem you reported, to contact you about it if you left your details, and to see how well each building is looked after.

Who sees it. SecaTeq operations and management, and the SecaTeq team responsible for that building. For a facilities or hygiene problem, the building's manager or managing agent may be told about the problem so it can be fixed; they are not given your contact details. People at SecaTeq listen to voice notes; they are not sent to any automatic transcription or AI service. The service providers named above handle reports in the same way as enquiries.

How long we keep them. Reports are kept in our mailboxes and, once logged, in our operations system for as long as we need them to deal with the problem and for as long as the law and our contracts with the buildings require, and are then deleted. You can ask us to remove your contact details from a report at any time. If you report anonymously we cannot contact you, so keep your reference number.

Your rights

You can ask what details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email admin@secateq.com.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za, enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, 010 023 5200.

Keeping them safe

The page works only over a secure connection, the form checks and cleans everything it sends, and enquiries are not kept in a database.
